Key findings
In Spain, 1,869 hate crimes and incidents were registered during 2022, of which 73 correspond to administrative offences. Of the remaining 1,796 hate crimes, depending on the protected group, we obtain the following distribution: racism/xenophobia (42.04%), sexual orientation and gender identity (25.56%), ideology (13.64%), sex/gender (10.52%), religious beliefs or practices (2.62%), disability (1.28%), anti-Gypsyism (1.22%), aporophobia (0.95%), generational discrimination (0.83%), anti-Semitism (0.72%), and disease (0.61%).

Sample details and representativeness
The data were obtained through the Crime Statistics System (statistical system of criminality (SEC)). For its computation takes into account the facts that have being acknowledge by the following police corps: Guardia Civil, the National Police, the independent police of the different autonomous communities (Ertzaintza and Mossos d'esquadra and Policía Foral de Navarra) as well as the Local Police groups.
